Kara Ritthaler

I have been painting for as long as I can remember—essentially since I was old enough to hold a brush. Today, I work from my studio at Hausmann Millworks Studios in San Antonio,--my hometown. I believe art, beauty, creativity, and connection are essential to the health and well-being of a community. Through my painting, event design, and involvement with local organizations, I hope to inspire and encourage others.

I am an artist working primarily in acrylics, as well as an event designer, whose work is rooted in storytelling. The story behind a painting matters to me as much as the painting itself. Whimsy, beauty, loss, and memory surface again and again in my work, often exploring the ways we hold onto the people, places, and moments that matter to us.
